Last week on the excavation and the last trembling days. We try to work as fast as we can but it is not always easy, given the fragile finds that persist to continue to turn up. Today we had to call on the conservator Max Jahrehorn to take care of a beautiful but very fragile object, a comb of bone or antler that seems more or less complete but with a consistency similar to a wet biscuit. This is the second comb so far found in the fort, both of them were found on the street within our current excavation. With Max’s gentle hand, it will hopefully turn into a beautiful piece ready for exhibition!
